SAR Store

SAR through and through. Built by volunteers, for volunteers.

SAR Store was created to solve a very real problem within the Search and Rescue world.

For years, people kept asking the same questions: Where do you get that kit? What do you recommend? What actually works on a real callout? Too often, the answers led to expensive, unsuitable, or untested gear that simply wasn’t designed for the realities of Search and Rescue.

That frustration — and the desire to make things better — is what sparked SAR Store.

Built from real Search & Rescue experience

SAR Store isn’t a generic outdoor or tactical shop. It was founded by people who live and breathe Search and Rescue.

Luke, the owner of SAR Store, has over 13 years’ experience as an active Lowland Rescue volunteer. He is a qualified Search Technician, Team Leader, MOD 3 Water operative, DEFRA Asset Commander, and Powerboat Operator — and remains operational today. That real-world experience shapes everything SAR Store does.

Products aren’t chosen from a catalogue. They’re tested alongside operational teams, used on land and in water, and scrutinised against the demands of live callouts. If it’s not something we would trust on a search, rescue, or deployment, it simply won’t be sold.

Who we support

Our core customers are Search and Rescue volunteers and professionals — primarily across the UK, but increasingly worldwide.

We proudly support:

  • Lowland Search & Rescue

  • Mountain Rescue

  • RNLI

  • Cave Rescue

  • Emergency responders

  • Police, Fire & Ambulance services

  • 4×4 response teams

While the UK remains our heartland, SAR Store serves teams and individuals globally who share the same operational standards and mission-first mindset.

What makes SAR Store different

What sets SAR Store apart is simple — experience, honesty, and purpose.

  • Field-tested kit only – Every product is trusted, proven, and operationally sound.

  • SAR knowledge – We understand how kit is used under pressure, in poor weather, in darkness, and in hostile environments.

  • Customer-first service – We take pride in helping customers choose the right solution, not the most expensive one.

  • Affordable pricing – We work hard to keep costs as low as possible, because we know most SAR teams are volunteer-led.

We don’t chase gimmicks. We don’t sell “tacticool” nonsense. If it wouldn’t go out on a real callout with us, it won’t go in a SAR Store box.

Custom kit: the heart of SAR Store

Custom kit is what truly defines SAR Store.

From individual operators to full teams and organisations, our bespoke equipment is designed, handmade, or carefully sourced to meet the brutal realities of SAR work. This kit is already in use across the UK and around the world — dragged through hedges, soaked in water, covered in mud, and relied upon when it matters most.

We’re proud that SAR Store custom kit is trusted in some of the most aggressive environments imaginable, because it’s built by people who understand those environments first-hand.

Giving back to the SAR community

SAR Store exists because of the Search and Rescue community — and giving back is a core part of who we are.

Throughout the year we support SAR teams through:

  • Kit donations

  • Discounted equipment

  • Financial contributions

  • Direct help when volunteers have had kit stolen, enabling them to get back operational quickly

We know the difference support makes, because we’ve been on the receiving end ourselves.

Looking ahead

As SAR Store grows, our focus remains clear:

  • Expanding our custom kit offering

  • Improving and refining our stock

  • Adding more trusted, proven brands

  • Continuing to serve the SAR community with integrity

Growth will never come at the expense of standards.

SAR Store — trusted by those who do the job

At its core, SAR Store is about trust.

Trust that the kit will work.
Trust that advice comes from experience.
Trust that we understand what it means to be operational.

We are SAR professionals, volunteers, and supporters — SAR through and through. And we’re proud to stand alongside the teams and individuals who put themselves out there when others need help most.

If you ever want honest advice, proven kit, or bespoke solutions built for real-world Search and Rescue — you’re in the right place.
